Investor Business Daily (IBD) assessed 2,208 U.S. public companies to compile the list of `IBD's 100 Best environmental, social, and governance (ESG) Companies For 2022` based on ESG score by Dow Jones (a rating agency) and IBD ratings that gauge a company's financial strength.
The company scores in social and governance areas of ESG by adopting a people-first approach, promoting diversity, practising good corporate governance, and helping communities. Its website reports, in 2022 it donated $2.2M to 61 non-profit organisations in health, human services, youth & education, civic causes and arts.
On the environment front, the company is shifting its business to eco-friendly industries by catering to demands from sectors such as electric transportation and renewable energy. It is making long-lasting, lighter, and energy-efficient products to reduce its downstream supply chain emissions—emissions associated with the use of products or services. In 2022 it recycled 96% of its waste and reduced its greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 29%.
