An Indian aluminium and copper manufacturing company has secured the top spot as the World’s Most Sustainable Aluminium Company, the third year in a row, in the 2022 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment at the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (December 9, 2022).
One of the world's largest aluminium rolling companies and one of the biggest producers of primary aluminium in Asia, the company was assessed among 26 companies in the aluminium sector.
S&P`s Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) are float-adjusted market capitalization-weighted indices that measure the performance of companies selected using environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. Standard & Poor's (S&P) is a reputed global creator of financial market indices used as investment benchmarks.
The company secured the top spot on DJSI backed by its performance in ESG areas including decarbonisation, zero waste to landfill, zero liquid discharge, life cycle impact, biodiversity, community upliftment, human capital development, and safety.
