One of India’s largest data centre networks is leading sustainability efforts through advanced energy solutions, increased renewable energy adoption, and effective waste management, making measurable progress towards a greener future.
The company has embraced cutting-edge technologies to enhance energy efficiency, expand its use of renewable energy, and strengthen grid resilience. In 2024, it achieved a 10% improvement in power usage effectiveness across its core data centres. By increasing its renewable electricity share by 38.3% in 2024, the company made significant progress toward achieving 70% renewable energy consumption for core data centres by 2027.
In 2024, the company significantly increased its renewable energy usage, sourcing 220,541 Megawatt-hours through green power wheeling agreements and captive solar rooftop plans. These efforts saved approximately 154,907 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. Additionally, the company’s various energy conservation measures, such as efficient cooling systems, energy-efficient hardware, optimized data centre layout and design, innovative lighting solutions, and rack layout optimization, resulted in a reduction of 8,080 Megawatt-hours in cooling power and prevented 5,786 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions in FY 2023-24.
The company also adopted the 3R approach- reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimize waste across all data centres. In 2024, 95% of waste was disposed of through government authorized vendors, and 1,970 metric tons of waste were recycled.
By advancing renewable energy adoption and optimizing resource use, the company demonstrates its commitment to universal sustainability principles and enhancing the quality of life for society at large.
