An Indian Petro Major is Refining its Balance Sheet by Conserving Energy

The company invested Rs 582.80 crore on energy conservation projects in FY23, and saved Rs 844 crore on energy​ consumption.

Usage of low-carbon fuels such as green hydrogen, compressed biogas, etc have resulted in a saving of 2,55,379 SRFT (Standard Refinery Fuel Tones) of energy, and a reduction of 0.81 MMT (Million Metric Tonnes) equivalent of CO2 emissions.

In FY23, the company managed to reduce CO2 emissions equivalent to 3.80 MMT using a multipronged strategy - usage of natural gas, generation of renewable energy, installation of LED lights, tree plantation at sites, and adoption of pipeline transportation.
