An Indian multinational technology company has received Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) certification for its optical fibre and cable facilities across India and Italy. The company, active in over 150 countries, specializes in optical fiber and cables, hyper-scale network design, and deployment and network software.
Sustainable waste management pertains to the collection, transportation, valorization, and disposal of waste to minimize the impact on the environment and human health. Valorization covers industrial processes that reduce, recycle, or compost waste for useful products or energy.
In 2020, the company became the world`s first optical fibre and cable manufacturer to attain ZWL certificate for its Maharashtra plants in India. The certificate was awarded by Intertek (US), a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide.
Since then, the company has made advancements in its waste dispersion rate and extended the best practices in the area to its operations across India and Italy. This makes its optical solutions one of the most sustainable across India and Europe.
