A Japanese MNC has managed to lower its Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions from 122,851 units in FY 2018-19 to 122,710 units in FY 2022-2023.
During the period, company’s market-based Scope 2 emissions also fell from 897,557 units to 800,613 units, and location-based Scope 2 emissions from 929,012 units to 913,279 units.
On account of its recycling thrust, the company witnessed a waste-emission reduction of 1,526 tonnes, almost achieving its FY 2022-23 target of 1,600 tonnes.
The cost saving, on account of its ESG initiatives, has, to a large extent, helped the company to absorb the inflation and yen depreciation shocks.
