Sealing a Greener Future: Achieving Sustainability Milestones

A European company specialising in sealing, absorbing, and protecting materials produces tailored foam and rubber solutions for industrial and construction needs. It has been steadily improving its sustainability efforts while following the reporting standards of the UN Global Compact (UNGC), making sustainability a central, long-term strategy that influences both operations and future business opportunities.

The company’s 2025 sustainability report outlines new policies, explores alternative materials, and details strategic investments to support its environmental goals. A company-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory began in 2023 and has already shown significant results. By 2024, carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions had dropped by 41%, demonstrating its commitment to climate responsibility.

The transition to renewable energy (RE) is also a top priority. The company started by installing 20 kWP (Kilowatt peak) solar panels in 2013, which produced 35,870 kWh. It has since scaled up considerably. By 2024, solar output reached 257,593 kWh, totalling 761.1 megawatt-hours (MWh) and pushing the company closer to its goal of 100% RE consumption by 2030.

Additionally, taking raw material sourcing as a key focus, the company aimed to procure 90% of materials locally by 2025 and achieved this milestone early in 2023. By 2024, this figure had risen to 94%. By expanding its supplier network and promoting cooperative environmental practices, the company is strengthening sustainability throughout its value chain.

Waste management targets are equally ambitious. With a long-term goal of recycling 50% of waste by 2030, the company had already achieved 35% in 2024. It is reducing residual waste and improving recycling in its production processes.

Through consistent action and measurable results, this company demonstrates that industrial and construction solutions can be effective alongside climate responsibility. By reducing GHG emissions, increasing RE use, sourcing locally, and improving waste management practices, it not only protects materials but also helps to protect the planet.
