In 2024, the company advanced its sustainability efforts with improved energy efficiency, lower water uses and waste, and a greater focus on biodiversity. Shifting to renewable energy, including solar installations, helped reduce emission intensity per occupied room by 5.7% and cut total emissions from property sales by 23.1% compared to 2023.
Properties across Asia are improving energy efficiency through targeted upgrades. One location achieved annual savings of nearly 280,000 kWh (Kilowatt-hour) by enhancing its lighting system and optimising mechanical and HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) operations. Another saved 510,000 kWh in 2024 by adjusting air conditioning settings, hot water temperatures, and electrical equipment usage.
The company adopted circular economy principles in waste management and addressed food loss and waste as urgent priorities. Intending to divert 50% of waste from landfills by 2030, it successfully diverted 28% of total waste in 2024 through recycling and repurposing initiatives.
Water conservation also remained a focus area. Through infrastructure upgrades, proactive leak detection, enhanced storage capacity, and water reuse systems, the company saved 1.9% in total water usage—equivalent to 1,112,184 cubic metres in 2024. Water efficiency also improved by 5.1% on a per-occupied room (POR) basis.
