The company’s target is to achieve a 50% cut in CO2 emissions by 2030.
In 2022, it accomplished 23.6% decrease with the use of renewable energy, less casting production, and better electricity emissions. The proportion of the eco-friendly products in the sales mix reached also improved, from 58.6% in 2018 to 65.60% in 2022.
Its global production facilities achieved a reduction of 7.1 kilotons in CO2 equivalent emissions in 2022. This resulted in a financial benefit of 180 million yen, compared with 2021.
In 2022, its waste discharge came down to 112 kilotons, a 43% drop from 2021. There was a 21.8% YoY improvement in waste discharge per unit of sales.
In 2022, the global production sites of the company managed to reduce waste by 3,200 tons, resulting in a savings of 52 million yen. Recycling rates stood at an impressive 99.2% within Japan, and 94.8% in overseas operations.
